While in Asia, especially in the tribes, I was sold on the idea of strapping babies on your back (or front when they are really little). The amazing ladies in the tribes were so good they knew when the baby needed to releave himself and would hold him out. The only crazy thing I ever did with a baby tied on was assist with a birth (hey, the moms up north would be out in the fields and what not)
I found out there is a whole "baby wearing" movement in the US. Check out this link for a list of benefits. It's also an easy way to breast feed privately. You can find some crazy stuff in the relm of "alternative" care, but then you find these fun little gems.
