Today I was less than a mile from the freeway when my car died. There was no shudder, no noise, just a sudden stiffening of the steering wheel and no power when I pressed on the gas. I pulled to the side of the road and was surprised it started right back up (though flashed the engine light). I had to rev it up to get it going again and wouldn't you know that a few feet later it died again. This time I had it down and revved it up hard to make it into a parking lot.
Anytime the car dies it can be frustrating, but TODAY was my first exam in micro. TODAY I'm in some important course content at school. TODAY all my friends and family are working. So I grabbed a cab. Wouldn't you know that TODAY I wore big heels (Murphy's Law).
I arrived at the school parking lot 2 minutes after class should begin. You have to know that my micro teacher is strict and if you aren't there at the moment she gives the test YOU DON"T GET IT. I knew I was headed to a class where I develop great phobias about the world crawling with microorganisms around me. However, the only thing to do was kick off my heels, pick them up with my 3 big books and run across campus with my longer necklace flapping in the air. (Heck with worms there is a test to take!)
It had to be a sight. Good thing the spring semester has fewer students.
