Warning: Tredmill Users

Just a PSA from me to those of you who may be exercising indoors during the rain.
Krumping while on a treadmill at a high rate of speed can lead to falling off said treadmill.

Skipping Class

Today, for the first time I can ever recall, I skipped class. I woke in time to get there, but I just rolled over in defiance. It gave me a little rush. I AM moving to the dark side (just as soon as all clothing comes in wrinkle-free)

Should my teacher ask about this tomorrow I probably won't say that it was becuase I already knew the material like the back of my hand. I'll blame it on this very odd upper respiratory infection whose most annoying symptom has been insomnia. (When you resort to taking 2 benedryl AND a sleeping pill and this still does not allow you to sleep THAT's annoying)

Stuff Stuff Stuff

How does someone who has lived out of 2 suitcases for the past 3 years end up with more stuff than will fit in the trunk of her Taurus?!? It's maddening I tell you!

Just BREATHE...the CLEP is almost over

I took my CLEP tests today. My sympathetic nervous system was in overdrive and I thought I was going to puke from nervousness right before the test. I HAD backed myself in a corner and this was the ONE CHANCE I had to pass them before nursing school (since you can only retest after 6 months) Someone once told me that you can really doing well on a biofeedback test by smiling and singing "It's a Small Small World". Somehow you just can't be stressed when you do that.

So, there I sat at the computer before my test praying, doing the relaxation exercises I'd do with a laboring mom, and singing "It's a small world after all....it's a small world after all..." Kudos to the old school little wooden figurines at Disney World who sing that stupid song. That mental image made me laugh. (And kudos to Tim Burton for that seen in Charilie when the similar figurines catch on fire)

And yeah, with the Lords help I passed!!! Guess I should get back to studying for all my other classes. Andrea made me promise that ONCE before nursing school I'll be willing to take a B and not obsess. Chemistry...I promise I'll loosen up for chemistry

The OTHER love bug?

Meron sakit ba ang tiyan mo?

Weekday Update

An unnamed source from Michigan is reporting to have obtained a semi-personal email from Miss G. stating that she is alive and single. Earlier this month the paparazzi in NC were claiming an elopement had taken place. Contacts up in the tribes were very quiet, leading to suspicious that "she was up to no good" Stayed tuned to this blog for the exclusive first interview.

The Price of Fashion

Today I wore one of my favorite ukay-ukay dresses (basically a dress from a crazy little hole-in-the-wall thrift stand on the street in Asia). I believe it was the equivalent of about 20 US cents. For the record, Rox was the one to find it for me and I loved it so much I even risked wearing sleavless back home. So it cracks me up that whenever I wear the dress I get so many complements. As far as I can remember I've never really been complemented on looks or wardrobe (those that were in IBLP with me would know why)

I think..."ha...the most complements EVER for a 20 cent dress". But then really...it cost $1200 to GET to Asia...there were the ground transportation fares....the crazy job and hours...and then the bill for treatment of PTSD...

Yeah, this dress is PRICELESS...I'll enjoy it as long as I can

My Horrible Addiction

In the intrest of being transparent and having accountability I need to admit my weakness. Currently I'm in an online nutrition course (soooo tedious since I've had this 2 times before in other schools!?!) Anyhow, while analyzing my weekly intakes of fat, riboflavin and other assorted values it has come to my attention that I am addictted...

to Trader Joe's Salted Natural Peanut Butter

Yes, it's natural and with no additives, but those little peanuts pack a lot of fat and throw off my Zone balance. I'm doing the cold turkey thing and then hope to be strong enough to only have it once a week or something. So far I've been natural PB free for 3 days. I'm about as grumpy as G when she went off caffine...wait no THAT was intense...more like G after about 3 weeks off caffine.

Bittersweet Memories

I found this photo of Criss and one of "her babies" in her former tribal house on her blog...it captures what I loved about the work we did, yet reminds me of the most painful year of my life (2nd year in Asia).

As Ruth Stull once said, "If my life is broken when given to Jesus it is because pieces will feed a multitude, while a loaf will satisfy only a little lad"

Such a Cutie

This is my 2nd cousin who was born a little over a month ago. Isn't she just the cutest? She does have some hair, it's just in the back.

The Tribute to the Black Beast

The final tribute to my first car....the black beast aka Bonnie. Mom and I took some pictures for a final farewell today. Bonnie's fate will be sealed this week.

Though I'm smiling I'm saying, "Quick, take the picture my bum is burning...this trunk it hot!"

My favorite part about the car was the difficulty I had seeing over the dashboard...great for low-riding with my best furry pal.

Helping Mom Get More Street Cred...

Today while trying to find some cliff notes on english comp I ran into a dictionary of urban slang. I brought it home to try to help my mom brush up on some of the terms her kids are using (esp in the drug dept). She said last year the kids were asking her how many baby daddy she had.

My Little Cheeseburger

How much worse can the economy or life get when you get turned down at the local cheeseburger joint for a job when they have a "help wanted" sign in the window? Yes, yes, it was a last ditch effort on my part and a far shot (not nearly as prestigious as the ER tech position). But I thought as a decent, clean, perky, criminal record free individual I could at least land that... O well. And to think I had started being optimistic...

Guess it's just a "quater-life crisis" for my "still verdict-less life"
